Caru Regional Network Events: Join Us For The Next Round!
The Caru Team have had an incredibly busy year with Regional Networking events taking place from April in CHO7, CHO8, CHO5 and CHO1. Read about these networks in our other blog post.
The CHO2 Caru Regional Network was held on Tuesday 24th September at Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar. We were lucky enough to have two excellent keynote speakers from the Mayo area; Loretta Sheridan, Palliative Care Senior Social Worker, presented on Communication and Challenging Conversations in EOLC, followed by Dr Alison Cran, Consultant in Palliative Care from Mayo Hospice, who presented on symptom management at end of life. We also had a delightful ‘information snacking’ session with six speakers presenting to small groups on their area of expertise – Cormac from Siel Bleu; Donna Toughey, Aromatherapist from Mayo Hospice; Nuala Logue, Education Manager from Galway Mayo Hospice Foundation; Kim Tully from Engaging Dementia; Marian and Elaine, CNS and CNM from Mayo Community Palliative Care Team; and Maeve Moran, PHN from Mayo Community Nursing Team.
Many thanks to all who participated in the day – it was a day of learning and laughs in Mayo!
