Project ECHO Launches In CHO 2
The Caru team are pleased to share that a Caru Project ECHO Nursing Home Knowledge Network has recently been established in CHO2, delivered in association with Galway Hospice Foundation.
Project ECHO is a learning methodology that utilises videoconferencing technology (Zoom) to share knowledge, best practice and provide support. Participants learn from each other by sharing best practice and collaboratively problem solving real-time experiences.
To date, 169 staff from 29 nursing homes in CHO2 have joined the local Project ECHO programme. Online learning sessions of 1.5 hours’ duration take place fortnightly over the 10-session programme. Topics covered during the two January sessions included Death and Dying, When to Refer to the Specialist Palliative Care Team, and End of Life Care, Symptom Management. Recordings of learning sessions, together with additional resources, are available to participants on The Caru Learning Hub online platform.
Membership of this network is free to all nursing homes in the area and is open to all nursing home staff – to register, contact Liz Jacques, CHO2 Regional Lead.
Caru Project ECHO nursing home learning networks have already been established in CHO3, CHO6, CHO7 and CHO9. ECHO networks will be established in CHO1, CHO4, CHO5 and CHO8. Please keep an eye out for updates in the Caru Newsletter.
